The "Deep Sea No. 1" gas field is located 150 kilometers from Sanya City, Hainan Province, and was discovered in 2014 with proven gas reserves of more than 100 billion cubic meters and a maximum water depth of more than 1,500 meters, with a maximum well depth of more than 4,000 meters, making it the deepest and most difficult offshore deep-water gas field to be independently discovered in China. Its exploration, development, construction and commissioning have led to the development of shipbuilding, steel, electromechanical and other industries.
